Under a bevy of brightness and bling, dozens of cities around the world literally come alive. So, it’s hard to imagine NYC’s Times Square, Vegas’ Strip, London’s Piccadilly Circus, Barcelona’s Magic Fountain or Shanghai’s skyline without the pulsing colors and animated lighting schemes. Well, last night, these cities that never seem to sleep, took a cat-nap in support of Earth Hour 2010, the annual anti-global-warming campaign.
It’s the morning after, and from the sound of things, the 2010 activities were more impactful than in previous years. Though there’s still some room for growth, the BrownGirlsFly crew is happy for the millions who participated. Here is a collection of the sights and sounds that inspired us. Please enjoy and feel free to share!
BEFORE – BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITIES
One of our favorite timelapse videos highlighting Hong Kong, Dubai, London, Paris, Cannes, Rome, Milan, Dublin, Edinburgh, Vienna, Monte Carlo, Prague, Macau, Brussels, Bruges, Munich, Berlin, Zurich, Bratislava, Cairo, Barcelona and Lisbon. While these images are amazing, that is a lot of dang electricity!
